There is a lot of interesting data regarding Construction Job Openings in July. First, the overall economy increased to having 10.9 million open positions. The construction sector stayed pretty solid in July, increasing to a 5.2% rate of hiring. Layoffs in the sector also decreased in July to just 2.4%. Back in April of 2020 the rate was as high as 10.9%. Construction job opening rates are expected to continue to increase in both residential and non residential construction areas.

- There were less construction jobs opened however as that number fell to just 321,000 open positions according to the BLS Job Openings and Labor Turnover survey.
- Construction sector layoffs also decreased to just 2.4% in July whereas the layoff rate was as high as 10.9% in April.
